What Stood Out
SD County Solar installed solar panels in my rental home about a year ago and it was a great move. I've waited a year to write a review to to make sure that everything is continuing to work well. Seth Tilley was great and kind enough to sit down, explain every detail to me and repeat and go over things I did not understand. Throughout the year, I've been able to ask questions and get answers quickly. The solar panels were installed efficiently by experienced professionals. I was a bit worried about putting solar panels on a new roof but we have seen some heavy rain with no leaks. They explain how careful they are in installation. They want happy customers and a great reputation. I would highly recommend this company. There were no pressure sales or gimmicks, just knowledgeable salesmen who have been in the industry a long time.
We had solar installed a few years back and needed to add more. The company we had gone with before is now defunct and a friend highly recommended SD County Solar. Seth and the install team were super knowledgeable and were more concerned with us understanding how it all works rather than just selling, installing, and leaving. We had an older, broken panel and they tracked down the manufacturer to submit the claim and replaced/installed it for free. That was totally above and beyond. They take pride in their work and it shows. There are truly good people working here.
Had a good overall experience working with Mike from San Diego County Solar. The install and planning went well, he handled the HOA hurdles for the project, and the monitoring has been smooth. The part I most appreciated is that they call me when there was an issue with energy production. They caught an issue with a set of panels before I did, and fixed the problem. When I had a roof issue possibly related to one of the mounting points, they were out promptly and took care of that too. Anyone can sell and install. I'm glad to see this company has been reliable over several years now post-purchase.

Here are the highlights of our interaction with San Diego Country Solar: 1) We first met Seth (Sales Director) two years ago at our previous residence. Seth came over for an assessment and told us that our roof was not in great shape and thus not suitable for solar panel installation. I was impressed with his honesty and the time he took to give us that feedback. 2) As soon as we closed on our new house, I reached out to Seth to get a quote. It turns out that we have a metal roof and needed additional steps in order to get solar panels installed. Seth was able to quickly come up with a solution so that we can proceed with the project. 3) Seth kept us informed every step of the way, answering all our questions and concerns. 4) The team that came to install our panels were punctual and efficient. 5) Seth was available even after installation and inspection. Overall, I was highly pleased with San Diego County Solar and recommend them for all your solar needs.
